Level: All Levels Ages: 18+ Every other Thursday evening, artists of all skill levels are invited to join a welcoming, public session to practice drawing or painting from life. No membership is required and whether you're a complete beginner or a seasoned pro, this is a supportive space to hone your craft and explore your creativity. Open Studio Night features a professional model holding a variety of dynamic and inspiring poses. This allows you to observe and capture the beauty of the human figure in real-time. Bring your favorite materials—pencils, charcoal, pastels, watercolors, or whatever medium speaks to you—and enjoy the freedom to work at your own pace. This isn’t a formal class but a casual, collaborative gathering where you can experiment, improve your techniques, and connect with other artists. It’s an inspiring way to share ideas, exchange tips, and build your creative community. The cost is $10 per person to help cover the model’s fee. Advance registration is recommended to secure your spot, and payment can be made online or in cash upon arrival. Your participation supports this event and keeps our creative circle thriving! About Your Host: Simona Buna, an award-winning Indiana-based artist, was born in Romania and immigrated to the U.S. in 2003. Initially trained in drawing and oil painting by her father, she pursued a decade-long professional photography career before returning to oil painting. For the past five years, she has focused on figure painting, portraiture, and floral art, studying under renowned mentors. In 2023, she was named Artist of the Year at the Nickel Plate Gala. Simona is a member of the Oil Painters of America, the Portrait Society of America, and several local art organizations.
