Wood Carving 101 - Spoon Carving

Jeff has been working with wood since childhood but, launched his own woodworking business in early 2024. Significant works include the garden sculptures at Bier (Noblesville), the Indiana Flybrary Project, and his line of wood products foused on local native wood.

About the Class

The class will begin with students learning the basics of cuts, shaping, and handling by crafting a ball from a wooden square. The class will then move into having students learning about axe shaping and begin with precut spoon blanks. The students will have the opportunity to put their own touch on each spoon. Students will be provided tool sets to keep and extra wood to take home.
